My whole driveway has been covered in 1-2 inches of ice that formed under the snow. yuck! For several days I have been going out and spending some time breaking it up and throwing it off to the side. There has been so much snow that there is no place for it to drain off as it melts.
Anyway, I got out the leaf blocks I did a couple of months ago and got the sashing added. It is now sandwiched and I have started hand quilting it.
Last time I went shopping I purchased some Irish print material and backing. I want to next make an Irish quilt. Yes, I do have some Irish in me!
I also purchased some heavier material with little cars and trucks on it that was pretty cute. I'm going to make a bag for my soon to be 3 year old grandson to carry his cars, etc., in.
There is going to be another blog hop from Madame Samm starting April 24th called "Shake Your Pom Pom's". I'm not going to be a part of this one, but if you are interested check it our at Madame Samms.

I have been enjoying reading what all of you area doing on your blogs. So much happening out there!

Hi Terry, I hope that spring is getting near. It shouldn't be too long now. I break ice too whenever it starts to melt.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt blocks. It will look nice once finished.

Your quilt is lovely I bet it will be really nice when you finish it up. As for me, my mother and grandmother made quilts. I am just not a sewing type of person. Ice left over here..no snow last night big storm went south into Indiana. Boy was I GLAD!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteTerry, your leaf block quilt is fabulous -- very striking!! Sorry to hear about that ice -- it can be a real pain, can't it? We don't have to worry about it much, here in North Alabama -- but the southern states bring their own set of weather difficulties!! If I know 3 year old grandsons (and I do--mine will be three next week!), I know yours will love a tote bag to carry his trucks around in! What a good grandma you are!! :)
ReplyDeleteThose leaves are really pretty. I know it was a lot of work to applique them, and now hand quilting, too. Amazing!
